birth details belong to you. the service receives only what it needs to make a reading and keep your account working.

this is the privacy notice for the development build, updated 26 September 2026. odd hours is not yet publicly released. the operator’s legal identity and a direct privacy contact must be published before public launch.

what stays on your device

your birth date, birth time, birthplace, and saved chart are stored locally. saved compatibility profiles also stay on this device; comparisons are calculated locally and do not send either person’s birth details to the service. these additional profiles are not included in private iCloud sync. the readings API is designed to reject raw birth data. it receives derived astronomical facts and a chart hash instead. optional CloudKit sync to your private iCloud database is available only when you explicitly enable it; birth details leave your device through that route when sync is on.

what goes to the service

an anonymous authentication identity and session let the service apply quotas. when you choose Sign in with Apple, Apple may share an account identifier, name, and email or relay email. these are account data. a chart hash and tradition may be associated with your profile. derived facts and your question go to the reading service and its configured model provider to generate an answer.

questions are personal. the service does not persist raw question text or write it to logs or analytics. generated sealed answers and the minimum delivery metadata may be retained for up to 30 days. the configured model provider necessarily receives the question to generate an answer and handles that request under its own retention terms. production model-provider retention and AI Gateway logging must be reviewed before release.

subscriptions

the App Store processes purchases. RevenueCat validates subscriptions and synchronizes entitlements with the server. purchase records are associated with the service’s account identifier. odd hours does not receive your card details. subscriptions are managed through your Apple account.

analytics

when anonymous usage analytics is enabled, TelemetryDeck receives automatic session information and SDK-provided device and app metadata, such as app and operating-system versions, device type, locale, and time zone. odd hours also sends allowlisted product signals, such as onboarding completion, reveal viewed, paywall shown, and share export. odd hours's custom analytics events must not include birth details, coordinates, name, email, question text, chart hashes, or the authentication user ID. the admin console separately counts authenticated API activity; those operational counts exclude offline use and are not joined to TelemetryDeck identities.

the website and admin console

this public site does not load third-party analytics scripts or advertising trackers. the admin console uses essential authentication cookies. authorized operators can see account identities, subscription status, aggregate usage, sessions without their secret tokens, and administrative audit records. it does not display birth details or questions.

export and deletion

the app is designed to provide export and deletion controls in Settings. deleting an account must also remove associated service records according to the deletion workflow. deleting odd hours does not cancel an App Store subscription. manage cancellation separately in your Apple account.

questions about privacy

the public support inbox has not been configured for this preview. if you are testing a private build, use the contact provided with your invitation. do not send birth data or questions in a bug report.
