Astronomy Engine

astronomical calculations use Astronomy Engine by Don Cross, licensed under the MIT License. the repository includes the vendored source and license. odd hours does not use Swiss Ephemeris.

GeoNames

the city catalogue is sourced from GeoNames, licensed under CC BY 4.0. the import filters cities and adds search aliases. catalogue generation and provenance are documented in the repository. attribution must ship with the bundled data.

stars

the Yale Bright Star Catalogue is the intended source for the full star field. catalogue redistribution terms and bundled attribution must be verified before that asset ships. a development catalogue or decorative website illustration is not represented as the full verified sky.

type

the app and website use the same Instrument Serif regular and italic fonts by the Instrument Serif Project Authors. the website serves these bundled files from its own domain under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. body text uses your platform’s system font.

traditions and calculation conventions

Vedic and Western astrology use different chart conventions. the app should identify the selected zodiac, house system, ayanamsa, and sunrise convention rather than hide those differences. astronomical positions and interpretive claims are distinct.

this website’s sky

the landing illustration is a decorative study in light. it is not a natal chart or the current sky. the app’s calculated sky is a separate feature.
